Beginning this month, we will be doing a feature on the flower of each month! This month is the Chrysanthemum.chrysanthemum_grandiflorum

Because the Chrysanthemum blooms in November, it is known to represent Hope in dark times.img_7441

Chrysanthemums are originally from Asia and are known to be a noble flower. It often appears on Chinese ceramics as the flower of autumn. It became to be known as symbol for harvest, rest, and ease.IMG_0367.JPG

The rising sun on the Japanese flag also resembles a chrysanthemum.rising sun flag

In Victorian flower code, a white chrysanthemum stood for truth and a yellow chrysanthemum stood for a slighted love.
